High decorative residence carpets

Kilims fall under the cagegory of flat woven fabric and is an accidental product.

The main technique is thousands of years old and has its origin as textile fabric for human clothing. There are different flat woven fabric techniques such as kilim, sumach or baludjkilim. According to kilims, a distinction is made between notch technique and single to both sided usage.

When starting the commercial sale of oriental carpets, kilims were used as packaging material for knotted carpets and was considered a by-product. Today, the antique kilim is a collectors item and the newer productions are high decorative interior carpets. Not only popular amongst the younger generation, kilims are also popular with mature customers.

The original origin countries are Iran, Caucasus, Turkey, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan as well as Uzbekistan and India.

Todays kilims are found in different craftings. From antique collector items to traditional weavings up to modern motives. The best-known persian kilim regions are Shiraz, Shasavan, Bijar and Senneh.

The kilim is a popular, affordable for every purse and decorative carpet.
